Amari Nova Suites
A GEM among a sea of hotels! For our second trip back to Thailand and specifically Pattaya, the Travel Caesar’s had new knowledge and understanding when it came to hotels we wanted to stay at. Since now we knew about the cheap and convenient transportation system in Pattaya, we decided that we can look for a hotel farther away from the primary tourist areas. Also, we decided that being right next to the beach was not that important for us since we would see the beach every day during our travels and sightseeing. Also, the beach in Pattaya is something nice but not amazing in regard to beaches nearby including those found on the beautiful island of Koh Larn. This time we looked for a nice place with several amenities. Our primary objective was the best cost to value ratio. Given the exchange rate of USD to Baht, we set our sights on a 4 star hotel with a low price, good location, and the amenities we were wanting. Finally, we found Amari Nova Suites in Pattaya. Amari Nova is a chain of hotels in various places across Pattaya and in Thailand. Initially when we saw the pictures of the size of the rooms and associated prices, we were blown away by the price to value ratio.

This hotel is located just off the beaten path so it is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of many parts of the city, yet provides more bang for your buck (no pun intended) than any other hotels we have come across in Pattaya. The only major downside of this hotel is its location in the sense that it is about a 10 minute walk to the main roads. Being young and full of energy, the walk for us was not a major issue, but we would recommend somewhere a bit closer for those of you who do not like long walks or have difficulty walking. There are however private Baht Buses (a bit more expensive than the standard Baht Bus), motorbikes, and hotel shuttles that can be used.

So, let’s discuss why we chose this hotel. The price is the first thing. We paid about $45 a night for a higher tier room. Prices were cheaper for studio style rooms. We also decided not to do “free” breakfast at this hotel due to the additional cost associated, as we didn’t see any reviews on the hotel food. There are many options for dining in Pattaya for a more authentic experience, including a small restaurant nearby that we highly recommend. First impression, the rooms were huge…. The rooms we decided to get were the deluxe that included a separate living room and bedroom, large kitchen, and large bathroom. It was like staying in a penthouse-like room but paying marginally much lower prices. The rooms also came with a washer and dryer, safe box, and balcony. Finally, the last great thing about the hotel was the swimming pool on the roof. The pool was very nice and was relatively quiet when we visited. Many pools in Pattaya are either shaded by buildings or indoor. This pool is open to the full strength of the sun, so the water is a good temperature even during the evening hours. Being on the roof, one also has a great view of the city.
PROS:
CONS:
Our final verdict for this hotel is a strong thumbs up. We love this hotel overall but there are some areas that can be improved upon, mostly dealing with the rooms being slightly dated and maintenance work needed. We believe however that the pros outweigh the cons for this hotel. From the great low price to the size of the hotel room, this hotel is recommended by us as a low price option in Pattaya.
- Reasonable price per day
- Quiet area (in comparison to the rest of Pattaya)
- Large rooms with options for a separate living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.
- Washer and dryer in the room
- Full-size kitchen, ideal for long stays
- Balcony attached to room
- Safe box for your valuables.
- Large bathroom
- Everything was clean and modern style
- Large swimming pool on the roof with nice view

CONS:
- 10 minutes’ walk from the main road. The pathway was narrow and no sidewalks, so it’s a little dangerous to walk the road.
- The shower drainage was not constructed well causing some backup in bathroom.
- Rooms show some signs of wear
